    Lake Francis State Park can be found about 30 miles east of Newport, NH. Lake Francis is a 2,000-acre lake set in the Connecticut Lakes region of the Great North Woods. Canoeing is a well-liked activity at this park, which is open from mid-May to mid-December. Campers in the late fall should be advised that there is no running water from mid-October until the end of the season.
